PETROL DAN DIESEL TURUN 10 SEN.

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi semalam mengumumkan harga runcit petrol dan diesel diturunkan 10 sen seliter, berkuat kuasa hari ini bagi meringankan beban rakyat terutama untuk menyambut Aidilfitri, minggu depan.

Dengan penurunan harga bahan api itu yang kedua sejak 23 Ogos lalu, petrol RON97 kini RM2.45 seliter, RON92 (RM2.30) dan diesel (RM2.40). Dalam kenyataannya, Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, berkata Kabinet memutuskan pelarasan harga bahan api itu pada mesyuarat semalam kerana ia adalah mesyuarat terakhir jemaah Menteri untuk bulan ini dan sebelum hari raya.

Perdana Menteri berkata, kerajaan juga maklum orang ramai akan pulang ke kampung bagi menyambut lebaran mulai hujung minggu ini.

"Justeru, menjadi harapan kerajaan agar pelarasan harga ini dapat meringankan beban orang ramai, terutama dalam menyambut Aidilfitri," katanya.

Pelarasan terbaru harga petrol dan diesel itu adalah yang kedua dilakukan kerajaan sejak yang pertama pada 23 Ogos lalu.

Dalam pelarasan pertama itu, harga runcit petrol RON97 diturunkan 15 sen seliter daripada RM2.70 kepada RM2.55; RON92 pula dikurangkan 22 sen seliter daripada RM2.62 kepada RM2.40 dan diesel diturunkan 8 sen seliter daripada RM2.58 kepada RM2.50.

Abdullah berkata, penurunan sebanyak 10 sen itu adalah nilai pengurangan maksimum yang dapat diberikan kerajaan selepas mengambil kira pelbagai aspek dalam formula penetapan harga.

Perdana Menteri menjelaskan walaupun dalam tempoh sebulan terakhir ini harga minyak dunia mengalami turun naik yang ketara, secara purata ia hanya berkurangan sedikit berbanding tempoh sebelum ini.

"Namun begitu, nilai ringgit berbanding dolar Amerika pula menyusut sepanjang tempoh yang sama. Oleh itu, mengaplikasikan formula yang diguna pakai kerajaan dalam menentukan harga runcit sebelum ini, pengurangan 10 sen ini adalah nilai pengurangan maksimum yang dapat diberi kerajaan," katanya.

Sementara itu, ketika berucap pada majlis berbuka puasa Perdana Menteri bersama rakyat di Tanjung Karang, Selangor, Abdullah membayangkan harga minyak mungkin diturunkan lagi bulan depan tertakluk kepada harga semasa minyak dunia.

"Dalam masa dua bulan, dulu (harga minyak turun) 15 sen, hari ini 10 sen, jadi dah jadi 25 sen. Maka, tengoklah pula bulan depan apa yang akan berlaku.

"Apa juga yang mampu diberikan kepada rakyat untuk mengurangkan beban mereka, tentu sekali kerajaan akan melaksanakannya. Ini janji kerajaan kepada rakyat," katanya.

Abdullah berkata, rakyat menghadapi pelbagai masalah berkaitan kehidupan harian dalam bulan ini, termasuk kenaikan harga barang tetapi dengan kesabaran dan kemampuan untuk membuat perubahan cara hidup, rakyat masih mampu hidup bahagia.
